Well, you asked so here you go.

If I was going to sell my FR-S and buy a different car strictly for power, it would be the Camaro. In fact, it was number 2 on my list when I went with the twins.

I ended up with the FR-S because, well, I'm cheap. The Camaro I want(ed) was the ZL1 (if you're going for it go big, I say). Had the FR-S cost $35K instead of $25K I would have ended up with the ZL1.

I drove a lot of 2012 Camaros, including renting one for a 300 mile weekend. I never had any more issues seeing out of it then a do with the FR-S.

As far as reliability, I know everyone says that GM cars aren't reliable but I've had two go over 250K miles, and for the naysayers have you ever noticed how many old Camaros are still on the road? I see a lot more 70's and 80's GM products still on the road than I do Hondas and Toyotas. Some of it is scale I realize, but when's the last time you saw a Honda CVCC wagon on the road?

In the end, I think what you are thinking of doing is a reasonable trade for the purpose you want. Heck, I'd do it. My next car will probably be either a Camaro or Corvette, and I'll buy it used, keeping the FR-S.
