Sooo, I just read through all 13 pages of this thread and the current OEM fix action is to update to a modified map that retards timing in the RPM range that this symptom occurs. Is that about it? I'm a bear of very little brain so I just want to sort this out.
So if the OEM fix action is to modify the base tune then can I hope/assume that tuners like Visconti, Dynotronics, and FA20 can also easily adjust their tunes for this?
I think I read somewhere that a tuner might miss this condition because the person logging would have to shift the car in a manner that would replicate the issue and that subsequently be captured in the logs with a correlation between the shift and the knock. Something that could be easily done with street logging but not necessarily done while shifting on a dyno. Is that correct?
I'm really curious to hear from tuners on if they are seeing these symptoms in the logs they are receiving from customers and what their respective adjustments/advice is.
I don't have the fireworks or knock just yet and I see no point in getting the dealer map when my tuner can just adjust fire for this scenario just as well.
Please correct me if I'm waaaay off course.
