1/4 quart per 250 track miles is pretty good. You have to take into account that some of it is likely (most of that) being sucked through the PCV on high rpm engine braking vs. being blown past the rings like I think you are assuming. Pull your TB off (or just the accordion in front of it and push it open) and shine a light into your intake and I bet it shines back at ya!
