I think there are some valuable lessons here. It is always likely that a new platform will have some bugs initially, so if you want to be a 1st adopter, buy from a maker with a good warranty track record. Don't expect a maker to cover damage that could be related to your having engine management software altered. Would we want the cost of warranty service on damage from bad tunes built into the price of our next car purchase? My car is the best of the three track toy/DDs I've owned, and the powertrain is stock all the way back to the rear axle. Anyone with any road course experience knows being fast is more about skill and grip than power, so think long and hard about where your money is best spent. If you want to power mod a new platform, you are voiding your warranty and taking your chances. You will pay to play participating in AM R&D while the limits of the stock platform are being forced to surface. The smart money is patient.
