Yes they will be calibrated from the factory. But it most likely lies in a separate controller than the ECU, and in the case of autos, TCU. It controls how much slip it allows before it intervenes...

I haven't looked into how the cars are wired, but a chassis controller controls the chassis systems: ABS/TCS/ASC. It is typically done on a separate controller and communicates to the ECU via CAN....
