I doubt there is a standard drop in value just for having it mounted. It's used; it's worth less. Like anything, the price is what the market will bear.

I didn't swap them over when I put Project Mu HC+800 pads on my car. They squealed like a Banshee when braking at low speeds. The next weekend I put the shims back on.
