It's probably just cheaper, especially because the ducktail extension looks like it's only for North America. I'm just glad it'll be easy to remove both once there's an aftermarket one I prefer.

We haven't seen the US spec BRZ yet, it's possible it will get the same duck tail. I think if the black bar between the taillights wasn't there, the ducktail wouldn't look quite as out of place

Will depend on which I decide to get, but I prefer white on the GR86 from what we've seen. If it gets a cheaper interior than the BRZ like the first gen, then I'll probably go BRZ in the dark blue...
