Mega pixel doesn't determine the quality and detail of a picture. It may in a biga** size picture. 550D is a great entry level DSLR though, you can't go wrong with it.

It just makes the car pop. I think BW only works very well on White cars.

I would love to see B/W on the whole thing. It might not work well with a red car, but why not give it a try? Adjust the contrast and brightness to make it more dramatic.
