265? Is this for stance? Depending on the wheel offset, you might be hitting the front strut or get some pretty heavy fender rubbing.

i have some 17x7.5 +50 wheels and am planning to get some stickier tires in 215/45/17. i'm not a big fan of deviating too far away from OEM specifications without any additional supporting mods.

i was talking about aftermarket 17'' vs aftermarket 18'', not stock 17'' vs aftermarket 18''. for example, rpf1 17'' vs rpf1 18'', i see no reason to get the 18'' unless you have a big brake kit.

actually, there's no performance reason to go with anything bigger than 17 for this car unless you're going to upgrade to a big brake kit. anything bigger than 17 just adding extra weight.

215 will take 7.5" wheels just fine. In fact, some 215 tires can accept 8" wheels and it won't look stretched. The stretched look will depend on the tire brand/model. Even though the tires are both...

Yes, they will look less stretched. As mentioned earlier, all tires are not the same even if they have the same specs.

For example, You'd have to be running 8.5 and wider to get that "stretched"...

You can go up to 8" wide on the wheels on 215 tires and it won't affect the height of the overall wheel. I think you got them mixed up.

Once you go to 235 and wider tires, you'll want 40 series...

Wider does not always mean better performance. If you don't care for performance/safety, then this will not be relevant to you. In general, you can't go wrong sticking to the factory tire specs but...

Don't quote me but I think 215/45/17 is a more common size, which means the tires will be cheaper. I'd just stick to 215.

Volk CE28N 17x7.5 +44mm or +50mm offset

What would be the pros and cons between the CE28N 17x7.5 +44mm and +50mm offsets? I'm not concerned about looks as I'm more concerned potential rubbing, performance benefits, etc.
