Good to know Toyota made their own shifter assembly. BMW’s mechanism is much too isolated for a sports car. Hopefully Toyota’s mechanism is meaningfully different.

In mass production, you have a very very small chance of getting an engine where the tolerances and clearances end up at a close to worst case...

Cause the ZF 8speed is as fast as the BMW DCT and it can handle way more torque. Autos have caught up, DCTs don’t make sense for most cars anymore.

The 8HP is lightning quick., quicker than it has any right to be. With an aftermarket tune they can shift in 100ms. That’s as quick as the M3’s DCT.
