The transmission is rated at 210ftlb and it's most likely at the crank. Your 250 ftlb is being measured at the wheels so the crank out put is higher. Interpret that however you want.

If by proper precautions you mean not shifting like an a hole then yeah you could extend the life of it. You're already over the torque rating for our transmissions so it's more or less a ticking...

If you don't mind hammering your transmission tunnel, you may as well just do the CD009 swap for the transmission. Do that and you wouldn't have to worry about it blowing up.
