I would buy a cheap borescope and take a look down that filler hose before coughing up that much cash. It will be extremely obvious if it collapsed. In fact, that's what I did when diagnosing my own...

I like it on mine. Wire harness came with obd2 plug so no splicing needed. It does have the option for boost gauges but I believe it's fed thru the obd port so not sure how you'd wire it for...

I think the concern that most have with dealership repairs is that while, yes, the techs are quite competent, nobody cares about your stuff like you do. In many eyes that could lead to carelessness.
