How are the lines protected under the car? I'd be concerned with losing coolant for how little extra surface area you added. Interesting idea though.

Turbo motors had the starter mounted differently and the case half wont accept the BRZ starter with the stock trans.

Don't know of anything stock on the gen1 cars. The two transmissions I have looked at didn't have anything for one (both pre-facelift). I was going to use the fill hole with an M18 x 1.5 oil galley...

Long studs and pass through spacers should be fine for track or autox. I ran +45 17x9 RFP1s for multiple track seasons with 12mm hub centric spacers.

I know multiple people who run them in autox...

17in tires being cheaper is a big reason to stick to 17s. 17x9 with a 200TW 245 or 255 is a lot of tire for an NA car.

If doing stock, you can do it in the driveway without taking the hubs off with a $10 Harbor Freight tool. I did ARPs and took the hubs off and used a press; it was still not a huge job.
