Well, that took some time. The issue followed the bulb so I ordered replacements...those got lost in the mail (not a good year for USPS!)...finally showed up yesterday. Installed, so far so good. ...

Also successfully tested the LED boomerang and it works. Looks like I can tap into the DRL harness to run...

Thanks for the advice. The car hasn't run enough yet to see if the light issue followed the bulb...the flat tire kind of took over priorities. I do suspect the ballast though...good to know I don't...

Thanks, that clears up a lot. I do think, though, the headlight assemblies are BRZ and not FRS Monogram after looking at pictures. I wonder if the Monograms were replaced after damage or something?...

Thanks. I will pull the bulbs and look at them. If nothing is obvious I assume I could swap them left to right and see if the problem follows the bulb, correct?

Ok, did a lot of googling today...not sure I'm smarter or not but read a bunch of stuff about headlights.

The car is a Monogram model...with BRZ headlights. The boomerang LED doesn't light...

I installed one of the pre-made wiring harness I linked above. Not surprisingly, the simple wiring doesn't incorporate any switched power source. So, the backlight on the switch is on all the time....

I am thinking I may just buy a new harness off ebay and re-wire the whole thing. There is a fair amount of splicing in the current harness and color mis-matches. Might be easier in the end.

Thanks, that's great info. I haven't pulled the panel to look at the back of the switch...will do that today. Maybe it has another wire not passing through the firewall and is connected at the fuse...
