I finally got a tune. All OEM except for a catback for now. The throttle response from GR to BRZ is wonderful.

Ended up driving it finally.

The entry now has a touch of oversteer. But mid corner and exit we cleaned it up and now it’s borderline neutral. Felt a lot better than the 7k square setup.

And I think we should put out a PSA for people to not blindly following 949's guide. XIDA's rear shock has 7mm more travel than us, and that made a huge difference.

RCE T2 7/9k
22MM FSB Perrin on soft
Stock rear bar (15mm)
17x9 RPF1 245/40/17 A052...

Yeah, my plan is probably to run it as is. Then make adjustments. Since technically I still haven’t ran it yet.

I’m a CT person who drives two hours to and from Devens MA. Love that site too much.

Tried others, but Devens had the most competitive talent and lovely site.

I would avoid the rear bar. 949 is pretty adamant on that and he’s a knowledgeable poster.

GR86 - Understeer Alleviation - RCE Tarmac 2 (7k square setup)

What does FL Limited mean?

But yeah, this is pretty easy off the bat. 7k square doesn’t work. Especially with the bar you have. You could either try the OEM front bar or try 9k rear springs due to...

Yep. The 949 article mentions that too. But for sanity check and just to get #s too, I’ll just do both alignment and corner balance.

Now I’m working on trying to figure out my dampening settings....

GR86 - Understeer Alleviation - RCE Tarmac 2 (7k square setup)

Well I already got the 8K springs per RCE and I can always try 9k down the road.

For autocross we have a few who in the GR (1MM larger rear sway) drive with Redshifts (revalved BC coils) and had...

I’m on 245/40/17 DWS06Plus versus the 245/40/17 A052s I run.

But I would say it’s 13.5” from center of rim to fender on all four on the all seasons. I would say maybe take 1/2” off max for the...

I only say that, if not, it’s hard for me to tell did the ride height fix it? Did the bar fix it? Did the spring fix it? Do I need more bar stiffness setting? Do I need more spring? We could be here...

Wouldn’t call it a half measure. I’d call it developmental, I’d rather go 1k at a time. Try it, take notes, go another K etc. since it seems that these cars have wildly different coil rates and...

GR86 - Understeer Alleviation - RCE Tarmac 2 (7k square setup)

Already have rake, so it seems it’s either the body is too low and needs to be raised. Like 949 says here or we need to first try the 8k rear spring and then if still needing more, I could try the...
