Check for timing chain cover and left/right cam carrier oil leaks. Resealing cam carriers will require engine removal.

Did you remove the orifice inside the caliper? Maybe that is what the banjo bolt was hitting?

As for the brake lines and banjo bolts, is it specific to the BRZ or is it a conversion brake line?
