Thatís one oart if car that doesnít like ďgentleĒ. It is under stress when the clutch pedal is pushed. The longer time spend there the more it wears. Shift fast with rev matching reduces wear.

You can also double de-clutch it. Thatís how ppl drive some of the earlier super cars where their synchros are weak. Think of it as a feature from super cars of that era.

Trained ears would hear it for sure ( stock and carb, being very quiet it can be more audible ) It also makes unmistakable noise when pushed.
