I contacted the dealer I purchased the nav unit from and they were very responsive. They ended up sending a PDF of the installation instructions which was very helpful. When I did the reset procedure...

I have now had the HU out about 4 times and have also triple checked all the connections. I carefully inspected the cable and all the pins and they appear fine. The HU doesn't recognize the nav unit....
