sounds like a immobilizer issue.. does the security light stop flashing after you insert the key ? if not, you may have to handshake the immobilizer ecu with the engine ecu again

the rear deck rattle your hearing is welding slag caught between both panels in the rear deck, only way to fix it is to spray some lithium grease in the gaps and hit the spotwelds back together......

i had fixed an 86 yesterday with this exact problem, it seems that all the engines were made on the assembly line as a base engine, then later on the plate was added if it was manual and a pump added...

its the shafts in the gearbox moving, even though your in nuetral your gearbox input shaft and bearing are still rotating, when you put your foot on the clutch it stops the box from turning, i bet...
