Are there any dog engagement gear sets?
Hi guys, wondering if anyone knows if there are dog gear sets available. Straight or helical cut.
Or are Cusco short ratio the only gear set available unless I want to pay 7500 for PAR straight cuts? I can't seem to find anything online really. If I can't, I'll just save for a sequential kit. |

I've send them an email and waiting to hear back. They are the only ones then?

A friend is trying to get a group buy together for the PAR Engineering gear sets. You can join the Facebook group Houston 86 Club or Texas BRZ, FR-S, GT86 to see the posts regarding that. As of yesterday he was just checking who may be interested, so that might be something for you to look in to. The more people we get the better, as they are offering group buy discounts. Thanks for the info! The PAR Engineering set is available here for $7500 which I'd be happy to pay for dog engagement but not for Synchro. Only because it's not what I want.
I've placed an order for my Final Drive kit and possibly tossing up if I want the get the Cusco short shift 1st and 2nd or not bother. I've also been asked to go down to visit Hollinger to drive their R&D car around and check everything out. It's a bloody expensive kit BUT it's 100% all together. No moidification required and would suit my end plan 100% Too many good options to spill coin on this car! |
Here's more information on the PAR gearset

I'm with @COO86L, as I wouldn't bother buying a gearset (like PAR) that wasn't dog engagement. I don't think the 1st and 2nd Cusco gears are worth is because you rarely drop back to 2nd on track.
Any idea on the price of the Trust set? |
I've spoken to PAR / forged performance and I can get a custom set of dog engagement gears made up for an extra 1600. So that's over 9k AUD plus fitting. Call it 10k. That's half the Hollinger complete kit.
Factor in items breaking from shifting with a lot of speed and force and it seems better and better to just save up for the Hollinger kit. I really don't want to go forced induction if I can help it. I want maximum fun on the street. Without the hassle of forced induction and tunes etc etc. |
Dog gears and no forced induction? That better be alot of nitrous :bonk:

Always interested in spending less money. But I am in Aus and the exchange rate at the moment is horrendous  |
