SoCal autocross noob question !!!

So I want to get into autocross get a couple of runs with my new wheels and tires before I buy my suspension to see the improvement or if any lol... So the question is I live in Menifee in the middle of Fontana speedway and Qualcomm so my question is do I sign up to scca and show up on Sundays pay a fee get in ? Or do I have to be in a club as well ? Because when I look at scca of San Diego schedule it seems to be club specific? Let me no guys thanks !!!

I am not familiar with San Diego, but for LA area (events at Fontana & El Toro), you want to start in this forum:

There is a Fontana event next weekend 01/16~01/17.
Not sure if the 01/16 practice is full or not, but it's the best way to get started with SCCA (12 runs).

Race day is Sunday (~4 runs)

I got my start with Speed Ventures for couple events before discovering SCCA.
Not a bad place to start, since there is no work assignment and you'll get tons of runs. But the course setup is smaller and pretty much the same every time. Seems like they are running at Fontana next weekend as well (the smaller parking lot inside the track)
