Reserved for expansion.

In the spring, I'm planning on swapping brake pads and fluid in time for auto-x season. Leaning towards Winmax W2s. I'll also need to get summer tires, since I sold the Primacys that came with the car when the winter tires went on. Leaning towards getting Dunlop StarSpecs, but I'm flexible on tire choices.

A note on the OFT Stage 2 Tune. Out of the box, it was pretty close as far as AFRs and Fuel Trims go. I adjusted out the cold start logic, adjusted the load limits, and ended up leaning out the low RPM/high load areas of the Base Timing by the tiniest amount. I also adjusted the DI/PI ratios to have more DI at low RPM. All logs are clean. IAM is rock steady at 1. I'm waiting for the next dyno day to roll around to see where it's at now, and depending on results will seek out a tuner. Alternatively, I may just go Ecutek at some point, and keep the OFT around for datalogging. Not actually a loss for me, as I do think the OFT is a pretty solid datalogger.

Thus far, everything has worked out more or less as expected. I will need to dial in more front camber at some point, but that can wait for spring.

Is that a wheel balance weight on the outside of your rear passenger wheel?!

Yep. I had them rebalanced recently, but they kept the odd outer wheel weights on, for unknown reasons. The wheels were cheap and are pretty beat, so I don't particularly care enough to do something about it.

Fair enough. At least the build is subtle which I like

Yeah, I guess it comes with buying parts from an importer - sometimes there are some seriously weird Japanese things going on.

Do you plan on changing them? Once the winter tires go off, any idea what tires you'll get?

I have the stock wheels still, so I might just go back to those. Also considering choices in 17x8. For tires, Pilot Super Sports, Dunlop Star Specs or Bridgestone RE-71Rs are on my list. We'll see what I can get a better deal on when the spring rolls around.

Wheels ordered. OAKOS hooked it up.

Wish I could have justified spending the 500ish CAD on RCE Yellows. I've heard nothing but good things about them. Please tell me more about them, so I can regret my S-Tech purchase even more

End up going with RPF1's? That's another thing I wish I could have justified. Ended up with 720Form GTF1's. They came in about 6-700 less, and only weigh a bit more per wheel.

The RCE yellows are really, really nice. I've been pondering getting Bilstein B6s to go with them, but it's really quite well sorted as is. But yeah, at 500 CAD, I can understand. Maybe the CAD will recover sometime this decade!

I actually ended up getting NT03+M's in 17x7.5. I really, really hope they arrive before autocross season starts in mid-March. I thought about the 720Forms, actually. The club that I'll be driving with isn't SCCA affiliated, so I'm not building towards a particular classification (since they don't really do classifications).

The dollar is awful, I consider myself lucky for getting a set of new S-Techs at 250. While they aren't exactly what I wanted, they fit the bill for me pretty well. Comfort isn't compromised too much, but they are a bit between bouncy and floaty. Though, they close the wheel gap very well, so I don't miss being slammed too much, which was the main thing I was looking for, otherwise I'd have just stayed with the stock ones.

I'm not a huge fan of the NT03+M's. Don't know why, probably the ring around them. What's the weight on the 17x7.5? Could only find 17x9 (maybe 8.5, can't remember). I'm feeling the crunch on the GTF1's too. The shop said late February, and I haven't heard anything from them yet. But that's ok, gives me more time to research tires without being rushed.

I'll be doing my first autox season this year. Don't know who they're affiliated with, but I'll be in STX. So, I've had to put a couple things on the back burner, until I make a decision of whether I want to move up a class (FI, aero maybe) or stay where I am (header, tune, some suspension stuff.

The 17x7.5s should weigh in around 17 pounds. Lighter than stock, but not RPF1 territory. I just couldn't bring myself to get RPF1s. The NT03s are pretty polarizing - they're not remotely concave and they have an extra ring - that said, I've always liked them.

I need to sort out some brake pads and fluid soon. I'm not good enough for it to make a difference yet, but I know I'd like a little more initial bite.
