Good garage for basic work/maintenance in NYC?

Looking for a good reliable garage that I can frequent within either Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Queens.

I know there are a bunch of good shops out in NJ, but I'm looking for a place that I can get to by subway if necessary. No one else in my family drives and I only have this one car, so if any issues arise, I'd rather not have to bother friends to drive me out to NJ.

Right now I just need some basic stuff done: oil change, trans fluid, exhaust hanger replacement (I bought longer ones, current exhaust hangs too high up), and inspection.

Asked this on the tri-state facebook group but only got one suggestion, hoping to get more opinions here.

I haven't heard of any places on nyc so far.. Based on forum and online searching a good solid place to take your brz/frs if you live in nyc/north jersey is either AZP installs, or prime motoring.

Prime motoring is closer to the city though..

Yea, been to Prime for my exhaust install, and heard about AZP a lot too.

Both too far for my liking though. Even Prime is a 40-60 minute drive + $10-15 in tolls T_T

Would go to a shop like that for serious mods. But for maintenance, I'd rather not.

Might just go to the dealership for oil and inspection. And let the random auto shop under my parking garage swap the exhaust hangers for me.

AZP are pretty good. They have good knowledge in Subaru engines. I take my BRZ for oil change there.

If you just need regular maintenance, i would just buy good quality oil and filter and go to a decent local auto shop and have them do the work and you supply the parts/products.

I wouldn't trust the dealership not even with changing oil in my car (had bad experience already).

My fiancée's father has a shop in South Ozone Park that has been around for 20+ years if you are looking for basic maintenance (i.e., oil change, alignment, tires, inspection, etc.).

Here is the shop info:

S & I Auto Center, Inc.
12702 Rockaway Blvd,
South Ozone Park, NY 11420

It is run by her father and brother, so you can tell them Aaron sent you.

I don't know if you're wiling to go to Long Island but my go-to shop is PetrolWerks.

961 Wellwood Ave, Lindenhurst, NY 11757

Quality work. They can do everything you mentioned. You can take the Long Island Rail Road if you need to get back home. I'm sure they will drive you to the train station, if not, I'm 5 minutes away and can drive you if I'm able to.

There is Tyrolsport (16-45 Stephen St, Ridgewood, NY 11385)
They're an awesome shop. Insanely clean work place, knowledgeable staff, and quality work. They do mostly euro cars but the basic stuff you're looking for they should do it for you no problem. I highly recommend them.

Just gonna bump this with what I ended up doing.

Wound up going to @AZP Installs since all the recommendations I was getting from here and elsewhere were also pretty far from NYC anyway.

Everything went well. The guys working there were nice, I had a nice chat with @Jive Turkey about his sexy BRZ and what I want to do with mine.

They also fixed my exhaust fitment for me free of charge :D (I provided the new hangers)
