Maxxis seem to be much more interested in promoting their bicycle and off-road tires than their sports car tires. I always find that odd. |

I think that could be in relation to who their sales reps car, they have made the rc-1, but not much else recently(until now). I know Justin has a huge pasion for the pefromance car world. So, we can only hope. |
Just bought a set of RE71R's for this coming year. Will be a mix of "DD" (really, only weekends) and auto x. Have I made a huge mistake?

15000km will be tough, towards the end of that you'll likely pretty close to the wear bars if you autocross often.

Seems like most sticky tires heat cycle out before the tread is gone whereas the RE71R's run out of tread before, or much nearer their heat cycling limit than what we've seen in the past.
If you chuck tires out because the grip is gone, you'll probably be happy with the new 'stones as they'll last just as long if not longer than you're used to with reports of 200+ good runs on them vs other compounds that are done by 100. If you run them until the tread is gone you'll probably be disappointed as that point will come relatively sooner vs say the Direzza's which mine still have plenty of tread left at 15k miles but the grip was gone ages ago. |

@strat61caster and @Locust cheers m8's. Part of the reason I got these was because of the price point. I'll see how these fare, and then decide if it's worth it to buy them again, in favour of something else that may last longer. Even considered the MPSS, solely because of the warranty on them

If you want to love the tires and are ok when they are toast in a year or so, you chose wisely. |
