So I was at Starbucks.

Typically in the morning when I feel like it I get Starbucks and pay for the person behind me. I don't look for thanks. Just trying to kickstart someone else's day in the right gear.

Either way the baristas in the drive through got to know me. They are smitten about the BRZ. But had no clue it was a Subaru.

Their jaws dropped when I told them it was a subie. Pretty hilarious.

If I have to stop at a toll, I pay for the person behind me. I've been doing that for over a decade now. Most people speed up to say thanks. Some don't. A few have flipped me off.

People are strange.

Haha in Canada everyone buys coffee at Tims for the person behind. Some days it makes me mad when I get a coffee and a muffin then the guy behind orders half the store hahaha, but thats the way the cookie crumbles

Ahh tims so tasty. Used to work at AOL with I guess what you'd call a Canadian reserve army guy *shrug*. He made a special batch of Tim Horton's cause we worked the night shift. I'd kill for that same coffee again.

Regarding drive thru paying it forward. I kinda worry if the dude behind me thinks I'm trying to....slip the clutch. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Just sayin.

Very true,
When I used to go everyday before work, it was probably once a week somebody bought coffee for me.
just keep it going on the next one +Karma

the first time I experienced it was at a Tim Hortons. I thought maybe the person in front was hitting on me. I got free stuff and drove off and didn't realize what happened

I work for a giant insurance company. I can expense my breakfast on my corporate card, so when I'm on an audit (which is usually four days of every week) I frequently drop by Starbucks. It presents a problem when someone in front of me pays. Then I have to say, "How much is the ticket for the guy behind me?"

"$12.50," says the barrista.

"Nope, too much," I say, because that's outside of our $10 guideline for breakfast. Then I speed away, and the guy in front of me really just bought coffee for a giant insurance company, since they would have paid for my coffee anyway.

The only time I ever pay for the guy behind me is if the guy in front of me paid for mine. Otherwise I might be paying for coffee for a giant insurance company, and who the hell wants that?

Nope. Not about to expose myself like that.

Besides, I'm pretty sure they don't want me talking about them, and I don't really want to get a call from corporate.

Someone thought my car was a Tesla, mostly because there's a ton of Tesla, Porche and Prius here.

Just how are you prepared to expose yourself then?
