Airbag Light & Passenger Seatbelt

So i got into a fender bender that caused the passenger airbag to go off and the light to go on. Along with the passenger seat getting locked. Any way to unlock the passenger seatbelt and make the light go off? Obvious answer is to replace the airbag, but I'm tight on cash so cant do that at this moment.

DANG, @RUEN_86, I hope you and any passenger are OK.

So, the light being on bugs you..??

You could pull the fuse …… but, I would NOT do that, because, it may disable the other airbags.

I’d suggest you just put a piece of electrical tape over the light.

Is the seat stuck or is the seatbelt retractor stuck .. ??

If it’s the seat, it may take a crowbar to get it back on track.

If it’s the retractor, you may have to take it apart and fix it … or get a new one.

DANG, and you just got your clutch straightened out.

Hopefully your insurance will pay for the airbag ...... if so, I'd get it fixed soon.

Force the belt open. At this point its probably a lost cause anyway, just pry it out. As for the airbag, don't get caught. Here its a huge fine for no airbags are driving with deployed ones. Why not turn this on on your ins? If you got hit hard enough to deploy airbags, you may have done damage to the car that you can't see

Airbags are super expensive and when you take it to the dealer to get that light turned off... Well, let's just say you won't like it. I would turn this into insurance if possible. There are services online that will reset your SRSmodule and unlock your seat belts assuming you can send the parts to them

The seatbelt pretensioner is a one time use item. You have to replace the seatbelt assembly.

Thanks guys, hoping there was another option besides insurance, but insurance it is.

Well you can get an airbag of the forum if you're lucky for about 400$ and get your seat belt and SRS module replaced or reprogrammed. Probably 400$ replace on module, $60 replace. Another $40 or so to repair seat belt. Insurance will probably give you $2000 just for the air bag stuff. Unless you're on SR22 just claim insurance, replace airbag on forum/reprogram stuff and spend the rest on exhaust or something. Dealership will say you have to replace multiple airbags, srs module, and your sensors. As long as you don't continually have an airbag sensor code being thrown the sensors are still good as I understand
