TRD Quick Shifter Bad Install?

I just had the TRD Quick Shifter installed by a dealership. Though I'm not sure if they installed it correctly or not.

Shifting into 1st or 3rd is a lot more difficult than 2nd or 4th. When shifting into 4th the shifter barely needs to move down to the point that I second guess whether I'm in neutral or 4th. It also doesn't have the click you associate with going into gear. Going into 2nd also barely takes any effort, where as going into 1st, 3rd, 5th, or 6th requires a lot more and you get the feedback that you've done it right. I assumed the Quick Shifter would make shifting into any gear require a lot more effort, not just the top ones.

I should also mention that I asked them to install the MTEC Springs, but I can't confirm if they have or not. What do the springs actually do? The major difference I feel besides what I explained is that the shifter kind of bounces back to neutral if you don't lock into a gear. Is that because of the springs?

Is there a lot of play when you're in gear? There is a little more effort needed but not much. You may want them to look it over again, or go to a local shop you trust.

Send photos of expansion hex bolt with loctite!
Its there any "play" of shifter on neutral?....

You should make changes in your car one at a time. First test shifter be:burnrubber:ore then install springs...enjoy changes in the car at a time....

Have fun!

There's minimal play on the shifter, far less than the stock. As far as doing it one at s time, I was able to get the springs installed with the Quickshifter for only 120 dollars by Toyota without losing my warranty. Didn't want to miss that opportunity :(
