Autocross video of Strano Performance Parts FR-S, first time out.

Just thought I'd post up a link to the video section of my website, because at the top of it is some footage of my flogging my FR-S around a Washington DC Region Solo event. First turn in the car, some details about the setup are captioned under the video....http://www.stranoparts.com/videos.php

What unfortunately doesn't come through is the fact that lot is not nearly flat. It has about 50 or 60 feet of elevation change, and there were two slow corners that led up pretty steep parts which didn't help the little engine that could much.... Still I think you can see that the handling of the car is pretty good for my throwing a setup at it (I did tweak on it during the day). I have some National events to get through in my Z06 and some traveling to do before I can play with this a lot more autocrossing... until then it'll be more just playing with stuff in hard--very hard-- street use. :)

This thing is growing on me. It's truly what I'd call a Sports Car.... I just wish it sounded better and had more power. :)

Glad you're here. Maybe next year we can hose another evo school and have you come out. Throw my frs around with a pro.

You were really moving at the end in that slalom section.

Do you have any plans to address that lack of sound and power? :bellyroll:

Wow, really looking forward to your development. What do you think of it's chances in CS?

Yes, I have plans to address both. :) :burnrubber: Stay tuned, parts will be added to the website I they become available and I try them (I can't try them all though, as much as I might want to).

I think on average the car will be a very good CS car. I do not think it will dominant.

Did you autocross the car in a stock set-up at all before toying with it?

I ran the Saturday DC event but struggled mightily with the stock tires after having decent ST tires on previous cars. It was a nice baseline test for me, but I know that the Primacys held me back quite a bit. I'm very interested to see what you have planned, though I plan to stick to RTR or possibly CS for awhile.

The wife and I are looking forward to such developments. We bought the car mainly for her with an eye to autox'ing it, but even she says she wishes it sounded like our modified LS3 Camaro and asked me if an exhaust upgrade would help (which means I have a green light to start doing things to it LOL).

I have trouble watching videos of runs where the camera is hooked to the door. It's just so much more comprehensive if attached above the windshield.

I agree, but seeing the drivers motions inside the car are also very valuable.

You're right. Perhaps a video where the camera is stuck to the rear windshield, inside the car would be best.

Nice. I ran that exact same course the following Saturday in the AutoX school I took with my BRZ. Didn't get anywhere near your times though.
