Try to sell the FRS privately or see if somebody wants to pay the difference and take over payments. Trading in such a new vehicle is a horrible financial decision. Especially with a child on the way.
Best of luck to you! |
The Frs does have some of the best crash test ratings for a coupe. So why not hold onto it for a while, a child seat will fit in the rear.

Agree with @Rapiddan45 . I don't understand why an FRS wouldn't be enough for 2 adults and a baby. Heck, even with 2 babies or 2 10-year olds. I commonly have 3 friends in my car as passengers. They love it. For them it's kind of an adventure.

I despise the sedan but that little hatch is not bad. However If I were in your shoes, I'd keep it and get good suv for daily kiddo stuff
You lose your ass trading a new car in |

but if i take my wife + all baby stuff to carry, this car is not practical. carrying your friends vs baby is totally different. |

Last thing you want after your wife has been pregnant 9 mo and given birth is for her to be miserable anytime she's in your car. |
I can not even fathom trying to use one of the Twins with a baby. It can be a major operation getting the 8 and 13 year old grandsons packed in so getting an infant seat in and out must be hellish.
Like has been said, if at all possible keep the BRZ and get a sedan or SUV for day to day life. If not then give up on the fun cars for a while and look at a nice cozy SUV or Minivan. The performance cars are fun and even if the WRX type cars are "more" practical for a family they are still not the "most" practical. Your day for owning toys will return in about 20 years I promise. |

Every time I see my younger sister pull up to my folks place in her 2007 Fit Sport during the holidays, a slight feeling of envy creeps up. Then I hop into my FR-S, take a spin around the neighborhood, and begin to laugh it off. Those first generation Fits look so nice and are so damn practical. |
Instead of trading a 2015 FR-S for a 2013 WRX, why not split the difference and get a 2014 BRZ?
|
My son grew up riding FR-S. He's 4 years old now. I've never thought of changing the car because I had a baby. I mean, I bought FR-S when I already had a baby. Stroller fit in the trunk too.
Also, when he became a toddler, I had an easier time with FR-S than my wife's Prius v. With FR-S, I can reach him while I'm driving. With Prius v, there is no way I can reach him unless I'm 7' tall or something. Baby = sleep or cry. Toddler = I want this. I want that. Do this for me. Do that for me. |
