Not Too Loud Catback, Header, Intake

I'm looking to upgrade the performance as well as the sound on my FR-S. Right now, its bone stock, but I want it to sound a little louder but not too much.

Looking at buying the Borla UEL Header, Borla Catback and Injen Cold Air Intake.

Will this make the car too loud? And what would the HP gains be around? I can shop around more. Budget for Header and Catback under 1k/each

Thanks!

Additional Info: Goals* HP gains + something that roars but not screams (Quieter than Invidia N1 Catback)

Considering buying a Vishnu Openflash Tablet to maximise efficiency.

EDIT** What about Magnaflow Catback? Heard they were pretty quiet, though not as much as Invidia Q300 (I want something louder than stock)

Any header and you're gonna be louder than an Invidia N1.

Loud but not too loud? Just a catback or axle back and no other exhaust mods, header and catback yeah probably gonna be a little loud for your taste.

Anything other than the invidia q300 and it's going to be very loud. I have a catless front pipe, overpipe, and catted headers with it, sounds really good. Not loud at all, but enough

I should have gained 35whp with my setup. If you're set on catless headers, definitely get a resonated front pipe or a catted one. But I would go with the q300 for sure

If E85 is an option:
- Any catback you want, based on the sound you want
- Open flash tablet
- OTS E85 tune
- Start saving for a supercharger or turbo

If E85 is not an option
- Any catback you want, based on the sound you want
- start saving for a supercharger or turbo

All in with boltons tune and pump gas you'll get around 30whp (depending on the dyno) with the right combo (header, front / over pipe, catback, tune, intake) and it will make your ears bleed IF you went all out for power (meaning no cats and minimal other restrictions).

Mild modifications and an E85 tune will net you about the same 30whp for less money and lower decibel levels.

Any catback that sounds perfect with stock header will be way too loud with an aftermarket catless header, at least if you replace the front pipe. Just saying, really give some thought to your goals before you start down a particular path of upgrades.

How about you get the Borla UEL and use the stock exhaust with JDM tips? Had that setup on my brz the other day and it sounded really good. Mine was with the JDL UEL tho.

Try uel header and invidia q300

Do this. Only then should you look for a catback if you're not happy with the sound. Don't buy too much and end up being unhappy. I'm using the openflash Header with the perrin intake and I love the Header+Intake noise.

Go Greddy SP Elite or Top Speed Pro 1 axleback with UEL header. You will like.

I have an Tanabe Concept G and its very quiet. It's just loud enough where you are able to hear it. I imagine with a header, over pipe, and front pipe it wouldn't be that loud. It's a single exit though which is why I got it. Although it seems most on this forum aren't fans of single exits.

Perrin 2.5 res with Tomei EL headers should be around 200hp with tune
