Las Vegas: Tire recommendation

Hi Everyone,

I would like to ask for help. My car is a DD and I am about to buy a new set of tires. I am looking to use the new set of tires all year round.

Should I or is it ok to go with summer tires all year round with the kind of weather we have here on Vegas, it gets cold but no snow from where I live? Or should I just stay/find a good all season set of tires?

Any suggestion/recommendation would be helpful and appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Go for semi-sticky summer tires...much better than "all season" and grips extremely well.

I.e Conti DW/DWS. I personally like Michelin PSS though

Vegas not nearly cold enough to justify anything else than summer tires. We have more or less the same temperature range where I stay, and I'm running the most aggressive summer tires I can find year round. (PSS, Potenza Adrenalin, Conti 5s etc).

Rather spend your time and money on getting the best summer tire for your application. (street track etc.)

you don't need all-seasons, you don't have snow. Summer tires will just start out pretty slick in the mornings in the winter, but they'll warm up, you just need to be careful.

As to how sticky a summer tire to get... I personally would go for something in the middle. A cheap UHP or MP tire. What's the point of getting sticky tires? are you hunting for track times? competitive autocross? Less sticky tires are less sensitive to slip angle and are easier to drive and can be more fun.

Lots ppl run Michelin PSS but Conti DW/DWS is more comfy & gives Best Wet traction in performance tires, vegas road is nasty when it's wet from all the dirt & oil accumulating all years. Get Conti if you want a piece of mind.

* Vegas road is all straight anyway, if you just behave youself even stock is fine..
