TOMs Tails are Starting to Burn Out
 

Sad day today. I noticed my TOM's of just less than a year old have started to die out. Specifically, I've lost 2 or 3 LEDs on the right running light. I bought these direct from @RallySport Direct so it's not like they were a second hand Ebay special. I specifically went for TOMs because of their reputation of quality. I'm going to reach out to RSD and see if there is anything they can do.

Were they the USDM version? This is... unsettling...

Not something I want to see... Im planning on buying Tom's in the new year... I'd like to hear the outcome of this

I've had mine for about 9 months now, they're the JDM version... my car is garaged though.

Any melting yet? Mine have started to melt on the drivers side haha!

Doesn't matter if USDM / JDM all versions should be manufactured by DEPO (in Taiwan I believe). TOM'S just rebrands them. The quality you get would be the same as those Aventador-style ones branded as Buddy Club or those tribar tail lights which I believe are rebranded as Lexon and KShade all made by DEPO.

Damn that sucks, hopefully you can find a fix. It seems like it doesn't matter what brand you get, they all ending up messing up somehow, since its suppose to be from the same manufacture.

Yea, this is really turning me off from aftermarket tails, I was thinking valenti or Tom's but I've seen so many issues with both it's hit or miss and makes me want to wait even longer for them to continue to fix things/get better suppliers for components. OR I might just bite the bullet with a vendor that has a long warranty who can take care of it, if something arises the quickest.

Warranty with the toms is good, I send them a few photos of mine melting and they told me to ship them in, but I nolonger have my stock ones so I said I would just live with it.

I went through the vendor I got them from, they took care of all that for me

I contacted Albert at Buddyclub about my TOMS and got my clears exchanged for reds. I also don't have a set of spare tail lights for the swap, but I gave them my CC info as insurance. they sent me out a set of reds and I sent my clears back on the same day I got the reds. I never was charged on my CC, even though they said they will do a $200 charge and refund it after they receive my clears.

I don't know if they will do that for me as I am in Canada but asking probably won't hurt

I know numerous people that had Toms all with the same issue. Most of them no longer have Toms, nor do I anymore. I cracked open my stock tail lights and painted the inside black. Looks much better than nearly all aftermarket tails.
