Steering wheel cleaner that doesnt make it slippery?
Can anyone recommend a good cleaner for the steering wheel that would treat the leather but not make it slippery?
Makes me wish our steering wheels were alcantara and not leather. Gahh. |
I personally use a product by Meguiar's called Quik Interior Detailer, its a cleaner with UV protection. I use two microfiber towels one I mist fairly heavily with the product and wipe the surface the other I go over the surface very lightly to remove any excess residue if needed. It is safe on ALL interior surfaces. Leather, plastic, dash, nav screens etc.

I got a clean cotton pad (the kind for makeup remover) and sprayed a little bit of Stoner's invisible glass on it, then wiped. Removed a lot of oily residue that's been left on it! Not sure if it's great to do all the time, but it works very well for reducing the slippage. |

I used 303 Aerospace, for most interior parts, but I'm not exactly sure if the steering wheel is actual leather or not, but lexol leather cleaner and conditioner does the job on previous car steering wheel. I recommend you clean it when you won't be driving the car for a few hours so it can work and it won't be that slippery. But it was never slippery for me.
Had a car wash use one of their products and that stuff made the steering wheel pretty slippery. Might have been ArmorAll or something lol |
