Can't Get A Test Drive

These cars are so hyped and over-sold, I can't get a test drive at any of the dealers that I have contacted.

Anybody know of a dealer who is offering test drives without placing a deposit and ordering a car?

Yup, I just test drove one and posted about it. Miller Toyota in Culver City may let you test drive it, they allowed me to and I didn't have to put anything down.

Best you could hope for is a generous patron of the forum to give you 15 minutes of his time.

If you were in Nor Cal I could help ya out... Otherwise keep calling dealers. I had the same issue and eventually 1 or 2 gave in when I came to the dealer in person (I think that makes you seem more legit and interested)

That's fucking absurd.

If you are serious, secure financing, tell them you are ready to buy if you like it (don;t tell them how much you were approved for!) and then ask to test drive.

If they won't do it, walk out and promise to share their lack of interest in helping customers on facebook.

Modesto Subaru pulled that crap on me. Needless to say, I bought my Firestorm FR-S from Merced Toyota. Take that Modesto Subaru!!!

Well they are not going to let just anyone test drive it plus the person that's going to buy it does not want over 100 miles on a car. I had the same problem the only way your going to be able to get a test drive is if u go into a dealership as a serious buyer.

No problem! They're great over there.

Good. Because they're idiots at North Hollywood Scion.

Why would you waste your/their time if you aren't a serious buyer?

Walk in with financing already secured (again, don't ever reveal for how much) or a wad of cash then and tell them you are a serious potential buyer.

If you aren't, why would you bother? Why should they bother?

Are people just walking in who are 16-18, obviously live with their parents and work at Burger King asking to drive the car? :bonk:

Duh. Don't waste anyone's time if you aren't in a position to buy.

I got a test drive in a FRS today.

I just talked to a nice older couple (neighbors perhaps in 40s) who could not get a test drive at two of the local dealers (and I vouched for the dealers >_<). They are big car enthusiasts and I was surprised that even at their status, they couldn't get a drive! I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but I do to have point out (if any dealers are reading this) that you drove them away from Toyota/Scion, when they had all intent to buy it outright. (They've been staring at mine for a month now!)

I do think there needs be a filtering system with a car like this but its getting a bit too excessive, no? ::looking at Moss and Riverside::
