Jackson racing 12 psi pulley

Hello,

Currently I have the standard Jackson racing supercharger, Jackson oil cooler, good headers, front pipe, flex fuel kit for E85, upgraded fuel injectors, etc.

With an upgraded fuel pump, and a proper tune, how safe on your engine is the high boost pulley that Jackson racing makes?

I understand I can't have an exact answer, and there is no direct science to it, but with an educated guess, how many miles can the car last with moderate driving? (No track days, rare red lining, usually driven at the speed limit.)

Also, assume it's a proper tune done by delicious.

Thanks!!

Anywhere from 10-500,000 miles. Just keep in mind more power = more chance for somthing to go wrong. Is it worth the risk to you?

there are guys that have blown up on the dyno with FI. and like go a way said, guys running ten of thousands of miles. obviously the tune is probably the most important factor but a lot of the luck comes down to a gamble. I'm sure the factors of no track days and/or redlining will help give you better odds.

Motors have blown with Delicious tunes, too. As long as you've budgeted for a new motor, go for it.

Thanks for the replies. How about this... Any documented failure cases using the pulley?

i dont have a JR sc but im running the hks compressor with a small pulley. my valve springs failed very quickly. if you are running that much boost you will need to beef up your heads. lower unit is solid. you will also need to clamp that vacuum line under the intake manifold.

i could fully depress the stock valve springs with my fingers!

setup:
hks gt sc
hks oil cooler
fic 660 injectors
dw65c pump
skunk 2 I beam connecting rods
titanium valve springs
cosworth head gaskets lowering compression 0.8-1.0
ft86speedfactory headers - no cat
act 6 puck clutch
LW flywheel
e-85
95mm pulley
no restrictor
trd catch can.

Running the high boost pulley with a lower redline is easier on your engine than running the normally pulley with a normal redline.

If you're never redlining, I wouldn't expect engine life to be shortened.
