I'm 100% sure only 140 were available. They came in 3 colours of which White and Black were the highest mix. Red followed third.

Regardless of the volume, these are rare and worth every penny. It's sad Scion wont produce them anymore because they were the fastest selling FR-S model to date and the best optioned.

GLWS.

This is the one I would have bought if I were in the market in 2014. I ended up with a '15 BRZ instead.

GLWS!

Heads up about this seller. He fails to put in his advert that the car has been in a major accident. After asking him for the repair bill he reluctantly sent me a mishmash (not complete bill), After manually totaling it up, it was more than 6k in damages. much more damage than he initially disclosed to me. Frame needed straightening, every major panel upfront replaced (he told me only hood and bumper), new welds etc etc. if you look at the hood/bumper gap, its much larger than on other cars.

I obviously did not want to pay his asking price after seeing the repairs and now he refuses to give my deposit back ($500), (1 day after seeing the car I told him to return it). we never agreed that it was a non-refundable deposit. The kicker is he works for Toyota/Scion Canada as a brand/sales/promotion manager in Scarborough

here's his kijiji ad http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/m...ationFlag=true

what do you guys think my options are?

Guru Woodman 04-14-2016 12:43 PM

Wow, that sucks. I would emphasize that you really want you money back and give him a payment deadline. If he doesn't meet the deadline I would report this to Scion Canada and give it extra media attention. I would even consider getting the authorities involved.

I've been more than lenient with him, I even gave him a week to try and let him sell it, with the condition he returns my deposit if we don't come to an agreeable price at the end of the week (we didnt). He believes he's entitled to my money because of a 'missed' sale...yeah right.. his car has been on sale since December.

I've sent an email to Toyota waiting to hear back from them and will send it up the line. Honestly, I would have expected more from someone who works in this business..

Sorry to hear. Agree with Guru above, and if that doesn't work:

I would say first put him on notice in a traceable (email usually works) that you want your deposit back within a set time, if not you will be pursuing legal matters and charging him of any any associated costs with reclaiming the deposit.
If he doesn't return you the deposit by the set time, start filling out the forms for Small Claims Court (located in North York). Make sure you include an incidentals with the amount that is due back to you (registration fees, etc.). Sometimes it's not only about the money, but showing people that their lack of integrity will not be tolerated.

DAEMANO 04-14-2016 01:19 PM

Call the cops. Seriously.

btune 04-14-2016 01:20 PM

Also, he has no right to hold your deposit due to "missed sale". See link below:

No this car has been on sale since last spring LMFAO.

I was going to trade my base frs whiteout to buy this but decided the 7000$ depreciation hit was too much but after hearing that it's a crashed one. Wow.

There's also another crashed one on Kijiji but a 10 series one but the owner is honest and upfront about it and priced it accordingly.

OP seems like a scammer and a shitty person knowing the fact that he works for Toyota themselves.
