Totaled my 2015 FRS
 

Today my FRS was totaled. I need to get a new car asap for work. Any advice should I go for a 10 Series, Monogram. My wife loves the FRS and she wants another FRS to replace our old FRS. Any advice would be a big help please thank you.

if you can afford it.. go for another 2015 or even the 2016 models

if you want to save some money
go for an older model

Check out a dealership that has one.

If you don't mind going older, want some of the goodies and can actually find one then either could be a good choice. Or, you could go with a newer BRZ and get the same things.

Is there a particular reason you're set on the 10 series or Monogram?

I feel your pain, hopefully you are ok and insurance covers everything. They probably won't cover the extras "mods"but I assume since its totaled you can remove those.

Probably the leather, push start, heated seats and all the cool BRZ appointments in the FRS?

Probably because racecar...

Would make sense, there are plenty of reasons to buy either but sometimes I feel as if people make their purchase without thinking through all of their options.

I suggest you rent a car for a week or so, to give yourself time to find a nice replacement.

May I ask what happened?

Any year FR-S or BRZ will do. It might also be in your best interest to look at other cars as well.

get the brz. if i had a chance to go back, i would've definitely gotten the brz.

Other suggestions here are solid. Either of those you listed are great choice or BRZ.

A big plus for me tho, is the rear camera, makes backing up and such easier also without having to guesstimate much, just don't always rely on it :p

I love how everyone when the FR-S first came out was like "Dude get the purist model that's gonna come from Toyota with nothing it's gonna be the scion FR-S". Now everyone in this thread that has an FR-S would get a BR-Z instead :lol: I too am in that group BR-Z has a lot of already standard that I do like

If you can't get a "limited" FR-S with all the frills then the BRZ is an excellent choice except you have to haggle with the dealer (Subaru dealers like to haggle with their typical 4WD models more) and the front bumper skin.

All I want out of my FRS is dual zone climate. I have it on my work truck and it's so nice not having to mess around with climate controls on long drives. Just adjust the temperature every now and then and you're golden.

Get a BRZ with seat warmers. Then swap front bumper+headlights=win

If I total my FRS, im going for a 2015+ BRZ, then swapping the ugly bumper and headlights...well headlights are nice just the fogs and bumper eww.

Trust me, when you have Brz you gonna change the idea about the bumper swap, in person it's really nice. :D

'Tis true. My Berz bumper now strikes me as a more classy, refined, and toned down looking version of the aggressive frs variant.

Excuse my ignorance but what does dual climate do as opposed to a standard control? Theres a dual climate switch in my car. Dont tell me you can control climate seperately on either side of the car. Yeah I never read the whole manual.

Whoas! Sorry to hear about your car. Hope no one was seriously injured. Hoping insurance will also cover your expenses from getting your car Opti Coated and the clear bra you also had done. If money is no problem for you get the monogram series or RS & get the 2016 so you'll have the back up camera! ;)

That's exactly what it means. It works pretty well actually.

Guess I'm the oddball. FRS=less BS.

Recommend another 2015 MY. Just my gut instinct about OG engines being iffy.

Or waiting for a 2016 and saving for mods, because the most requested feature here seems to be reverse camera which the 2016 has standards thanks to the new NHTSA standards

My insurance called me couple weeks ago. They said they will repair it. Repair cost + Opti coat (Re-apply) and Fender clear coat replacement total was about $12,000. I should get my car back next week. Thanks everyone
