Air intake, Exhaust & headers?

Hey guys.

Recently i posted up about Greddy, but a few people gave me different opinion about other exhaust. I was curious on whats out there and what you guys have installed? and with the air intake. I recently installed Greddy air intake, but I was told i did not need to reinstall the air inlet duct? what would you guys do?

what does the Air inlet duct do towards the car? Sorry im learning as i go.

Thanks in advance.

I think you are talking about the tube that conveys sound to the interior of the car. That is all it does, so if you want extra engine/intake noise you can open that hole, but I would leave it as is. You can still connect the tube which will make replacing the stock intake easier, it just won't do anything.

I'm confused I think he's either referring to either the actual intake duct/snorkel in the bumper or the sound tube....

You may be right, in this case I left the stock inlet tube installed to make sure fresh air is being sucked in and again it makes it easier to put the stock intake back in. With slight maneuvering it can be done.

Ahh I don't have this issue as I don't have to mess with the duct in any way with the TRD intake, however I have be looking into an HKS intake air duct or greddy intake air duct to add onto it, but there is no power to be had by messing with that duct. It's been proven to only add around 1-2 horsepower and even that can be considered possible dyno error or variables in the environment. Hence why leaving the stock duct in place is smartest

If your taking about the snorkel in the front bumper, remove it. The snorkel with the Greddy intake makes the the AFR run a little more lean. Grimmspeed had posted graph about this a while back. And remove the sound tube, it does nothing but add weight ;)

For exhaust, I suggest the Dezod Catback exhaust. It has a nice deep tone to it before you install headers. The dual 5.5" tips fill the cutouts in the bumper nicely as well. The only issue I've run into is that the mid pipe hangs so low. With my car on Eibach Sport lines and the Dezod installed, I have scrubbed on pinecones in people's driveways but only the mid pipe. It hangs lower than my bumpers, so that's why. Other than that, I haven't had an issue with the Dezod

Thanks guys for the feedback, it Was my actually first air intake I've added to any of my car lol. So I was confused about the air inlet duct/ snorkel. I kept it off like the instruction said but if it doesn't hurt my car by keeping it off. I'll just leave it as is. Taking off the bumper was a ass for my first time lol

Engineers make instructions for a reason.
