Air Suspension?

Does anyone here have air suspension? I know, it drastically "ruins" the handling.
But I love the slammed look. Also, I hate speed bumps, and scraping on one is the shittiest thing ever.
If it weren't for the gigantic speed bumps in my area, coils would already be on my car.
So, does anyone know any recommended brands for Air Suspension?
I was looking at Airrex already.

Airrex is your best bet, I have airlift and it sucks. The rides no different to any other air kit but the quality of the rears is shocking, and the V2 controller is hopeless. The front struts are good (when they don't leak) but thats about it. Haven't heard a bad word about Airrex yet :thumbsup:

And the handling isn't so bad once you upgrade to a better rear swaybar but will never quite have the same feel as you get with good coils..

Would air suspension be worth the thousands?

If you're into the stanced/slammed/aggressive look and you find yourself scraping on every little bump and driveway and your sick of half of the money being spent on your car going towards replacement lips then yes, it's worth it. Thats the way I see it anyway. I've had issues with my system but I've managed to iron out most of them and those I couldn't I just learned to live with. Like any form/function mod it's all about compromise. My car rides like a 1970's harley but looks mean and can go places you would never think it could :thumbsup:

If you have 3k+ and don't plan on tracking it or drive it hard then yes.

Otherwise no, just go with coilovers.

i got airlift v2 as well. as stated above, the rears feel horrible when you have too much psi in the rear. what this means is that you have to raise the coil so you don't have to run with so much air, but then if you raise it, you can't slam it down as low as you can go. Classic form vs function. Other than that, management is alright. Nothing too crazy.

That's really odd. I'm running Air lift struts and have never had any clunking. I change my control arm settings from time to time, but I've run as high as 60psi with no issues.

Did you guys ensure that the center top nut is tight?

And also, the V2 management isn't horrible. I don't think you can rag on it for not dealing with leaks very well if you didn't install a leak free system to begin with. I had V2 on all last year and it was perfect for what I wanted out of it (just upgraded to 3h)

There's a few of us with the clunking issue, I started a thread about it a while back.

The way the V2 system deals with leaks isn't horrible, it's downright dangerous. Rather than maintain system pressure within a certain number PSI, say, within 10 psi for example, it waits for the pressure to drop below a threshhold of around 25-30% of the preset pressure. So if your running 30 psi and suddenly develop a leak at 110kph on the freeway the results could be catastrophic. With my setup at that threshhold (8-9 psi) my front lip touches the ground and my front fenders slip over the wheels causing me to loose steering. I did install a leak free system btw, the slow leaks developed themselves in all of the struts, front and rear. Tried contacting airlift about it, they didn't seem interested. Luckily I know how to fix leaky airbags anyway..
