A VON or a VIN? A VON doesn't mean squat. I have 2 VONs, one from mid-May and the other from last week, with general ETAs of October. A VON just means subaru officially got your order and it MIGHT be in production.

Looking at YOU, Nissan. Not everyone can afford a 370Z....

you've been waiting??????

...

try this on for size...

emailed Subaru South Africa in December 2011 reagrding the BRZ. Asked to be put on the list the same month. Filled in the Offer to purchase the same month. ...well....still waiting for the car...no ETA...:mad0260:

I hope the FRS and BRZ start a "pony car war" of sorts like what happened in the '60s in response to the Mustang. It would be cool to see what the other manufactures could come up with as a response to these two cars. One thing is for sure, everybody else will be playing CATCH UP to Toyota and Subaru. And they will still have to price it at or below $25k to even get people interested.

Not very many people would buy that Miata mentioned above. People that like Miatas already have Miatas. The other companies will have to build from the ground up too. It took 5 years for Chevy to respond to Ford's "New Mustang" in 2005. So I think our Hachi-Roku's will reign king for the time being.

The real question is.. how much is that Mazda going to be MSRP-wise. All those frills like carbon fiber don't come cheap.

Try Recaros and sticky rubber - that's $3000 right there. The car detailed in the article is nowhere near $25K, or even $30K. Sounds like a $35K car to me. STI, EVO, Z territory.

I'm glad it maxes out at 7400 :D

Hah, isn't Honda releasing a new line of engines this coming year with DI and 3 stage VTEC? (it's about f***ing time Honda.) I remember the press release talking about a 1.5, 1.8, 2.4, and 3.5L. Oops, those sound like L15, R18, K24, and J35 refreshes :(

An MR2 like car from Honda with a slightly hotted up 1.5 or 1.8 would be really awesome IMO. CRZ is a little short on everything.

I'm still assuming (and hoping) this is just for JDM. Didnt they mention they were putting the JDM line on hold, to cope with global demand?

I am waiting to place my order for a March-June 13' delivery...hopefully this wont affect when I should place it (around Dec, Jan).....

This made me very sad.

This changes everything! I'm not happy right now.

I knew the car was special, but I think none of us expected there to be this much demand.

I might be in a hurry to buy something soon, so I might end up just getting a cheap NA Miata or something to hold me over until the BRZs are more plentiful, if I can't find the one I want when I need it.

Dude I basically want a 2014 model, if I am going to get a January to April delivery date. 2014 models should be out by may or june 2013.

But there are cars sitting on the lots right now...BRZ and FR-S. If you really want one, you can find one right now. It might not be the color you want, but they are out there, with more unspoken ones coming each month.

Turbowned 06-27-2012 12:56 PM

I'm gonna be really aggravated if I can't order one in a couple months and see it before the snow falls. I just had to give up my pre-order due to financial BS :mad0259:
