Group Buys...
 

So, I'm kind of new around these parts, so I don't really want to start any trouble, but why do we have a group buy section full of threads that aren't group buys? They're just the vendor's pricing that happens to be below MAP.

I appreciate that the prices are probably good prices, but this doesn't make them group buys by definition, so why are they in the group buy forum?

I thought the same thing when I came around to this side of town. I'm used to the traditional group buy format. But :iono:

But there are not too many group buys going on anymore so maybe that is why??

Yeah, I just thought I'd bring it up for staff awareness. We move every other thread that doesn't fit the category, so why are generic product advertisements in the group buy section? :iono:

Who knows, maybe the LACK of group buys will help drum up some interest in putting together an actual group buy. I agree, generic product advertisements don't belong in the group buy section, if we are being fair.

A lot of started out as group buy (like FT86SF's LCA or Gspeed's gas pedal kit). After they finish with the group buy the go into reg sales.

It does, but shouldn't they then be either moved to the appropriate area, or not be allowed to be bumped repeatedly in a subforum that is no longer applicable to the thread?

We should... but tbh vendors are wasting their thread counts. They're limited to certain amount of they can make. If they want to make it there instead of having it in proper place, sure... but that's just me.
