Saw a '13 FRS MT with 26k for $14k. Clean and stock. How much you guys think it should be going for? What's the catch?

Rebuilt title??

Owner says it's a "clean" title". I haven't run VIN check yet though.

I would be looking very closely. Seems way low for a clean title vehicle.

I think the prices are getting close to this amount seems reasonable.

Must've been in a few accidents for "good" condition. Run a carfax or something on it.

Yes, it's too damn good. I've seen many rebuilt with more milage for more than $14k.

Man have a good look around it and see if everything looks normal, open the engine compartment check to see if screws that are normally left alone have been unscrewed, get a flash light and kneel down and have a good look underneath it, look in the trunk see if everything looks normal on both sides and the same, look for traces of paint that's not supposed to be there and check the car fax and check the car at a mechanic and body shop.

It sounds like a very good deal, but I don't know if it's a too-good-to-be-true deal.. it could be legit. Remember, this is a niche market car. To us, it's a great car. To the general populace, it's an impractical car that can't be driven safely year round (WRONG.. but that's how most folks feel about RWD these days). The market is slow on these, and they sit on dealer's floors for a long time typically.

I paid 17,750 for mine w/ 22,500 on it (FR-S base, manual, argento), Toyota certified (12/12k comp, 7 yr/100K drivetrain) from a dealer a little over a month ago. 14K in the private market, no warranty... it's not that far off.

Just sayin'. Look at it closely, of course, and DO check into the title history for sure. If that checks out, it may actually be just a very good deal, and not a big fat mess!

I recently got a wholesale offer of $15300 from the Toyota dealer I bought the car from. This was an outright purchase; not a trade-in. Mine is an 2013 AT, but that doesn't account for THAT much difference.

something wrong. 17-18k is a fair deal on something like that. in the 16,000's and you are doing very well. I vote rebuilt title or just some old guy that goes through cars quickly and doesn't care about losing a couple bucks just so he can move it quickly.

I've seen two or three that cheap as well that appear to be not a scam. Maybe not the best examples, but yes if you're patient and willing to travel (or lucky, or don't care about prior crash damage) you could get an 86 in your driveway for $15k nowadays.

Personally, I'd save up an extra few thousand and get a nicer one.
