86DRIVE and 86CUP’s 2015 End of Season Event on December 12th
 

Some of you may have noticed that we did not hold an End Of Summer event this year like we did last year. My apologies for that, the summer (and fall) have kind of gotten away from me and we could not secure a venue and date near the end of the summer. So we bring you at long last, an announcement for the 86DRIVE End of Season Event, which will take place on Saturday December 12, 2015. We will be holding this event jointly with the season finale weekend of the NorCal 86CUP competition series, of which we take part in as well with our #128 86DRIVE Subaru BRZ. With the year quickly coming to a close, and many of us already planning to be there at the racetrack for this season ender, it made sense for us to team up and throw one last big celebration together. Yes, I realize that Monterey is a bit far away from the Bay Area, but on some of our more epic full days of driving we have ventured even further distances and I assure you this event will be well worth the trip. Admission to the racetrack is FREE to attend this event! For those of you who have been attending our Summer DRIVES and earning 86DRIVE STARS on your punch cards, we will have some small prizes to raffle away.

7AM - 86CUP competitors arrive and set up
9AM - 86CUP first cars on track
12AM - Lunch in the paddock brought to you by Northern California Racing Club
4:30PM - Last track sessions of the day

Here is how the raffle will work. Those of you who participated last year, the eligibility rules are basically the same.

86DRIVE members earn 1 STAR for each group drive they’ve completed safely. Also, if you’ve done a track day or autocross this summer (between June and November) you’ll also be awarded a STAR. Contact me with proof of each event if you didn’t get your STAR punches on your 86DRIVE card. Each of these STARS you’ve earned will be converted into a raffle ticket. So the more DRIVING you’ve done, the more chances you have to win! But ... even if you have not earned any STARS this year, you will be eligible for one raffle ticket by showing up for the End of Season event on Saturday.

We’d love to see everyone at the meet, but I know not everyone will be able to attend, so if you have earned STARS and want to still be eligible to win prizes, we will have a way for you to still enter — just post up a photo here in this thread of your 86DRIVE card, with your name and your STARS on it and we will make sure your entries will be included in the drawing.

If you can't make it on Saturday please post your STARS entries by noon on Friday December 11th, 2015 in order to be included. If you will be at the meet on Saturday then no need to post, just bring your card and present it to me that day for your raffle tickets.

@CSG Mike will be available on Saturday (Socal has their 86Cup season-closer on Sunday @Willow Springs). If you're interested, please PM him early to book a time slot.

Other experienced personnel will also be on hand to meet and greet. Norcal has so much talent that once in a while, we come together at 86Cup to catch up.

These raffle prizes are different from the #86Cup winners' prizes from our sponsors (Cusco, Winmax, CSG). As always for the participants, we have an ongoing 86Cup participants' discount from GT-Radial and Simpson, as well as from Cusco, Winmax, and CSG.

Any non-86Cup participants can also benefit. Just understand though that the discounts will not be as deep as an 86Cup participant.

Might be coming in the Rav4 I got as a loaner. That would mean for the Summer kick-off I didn't have the Fr-s, and the end of summer event.

Hoping all goes well at the dealership and they get the car to me by Saturday.

Ooops, haha dang that auto-co-wrecks! Fixed... although I'm sure we would love some good cleaning products after a day at the track...
