[All dash light], including CEL, TPMS, TC and etc, on while driving.

Background:

Setup: I got a Vortech Supercharger kit (ECUtek tuned) + catless UEL header + 2.5 over pipe + 2.5 catted front pipe + catback (full aftermarket exhaust).

Known issue: I think I got some gasket leak on the gasket in front of or after the overpipe.

Other Factors: I run winter wheels without tpms so the tmps light stays on.

Issue:

It rains today, and when I was driving around 30-40mph under 3rd gear, I put the gear to neutral, then all dash light was on, including CEL, TC, TPMS(should be) and everything. These lights stayed on for about 5 second and then off. I dont remember which light is on and which is off because I was driving. But most likely all the lights were on. It showed the same thing as you turn the key to the first level and do not start the car. I felt the car a little bit weak when these lights were on. I could be wrong even if I put the car to 3 gear immediately, because it lasted for only a few seconds and I dont even have time to feel it.

Now everything is ok. I tried to restart the car and could not replicate the issue. I check the boost during idling and it is around -20, which is normal.

I think the car might run lean because of the exhaust leak. But it was not a bad leak at all. I got a crack front pipe before and I welded to fix it in a store. At the time that the front pipe was cracked, the car was really loud but I had not dash light issue. I then fixed the crack but I think I need to change new gasket soon to get rid of the leak completely. As I said, now there is only a little leak on the gasket, not bad at all.

Is the leak a possible cause?

One possibility cause I think is the idling. The car might not idle really well when the exhaust is leak. Some time the rpm drop at idle and the car shake. when I put the gear to neutral today at 30-40mph, the rpm drop to a too low level. And the car almost die because of the low rpm. So the dash light was on as when you turn off the car.

Any one has similar experience?

Thank you.

Use a obd scanner or something else to read stored error codes.

Could possibly be dying battery if your getting random unrelated codes

Use google to search error codes eg "subaru P0016"

If its cam related error codes get a shop to look at it

I reckon I'd start by disconnecting the battery for a short spell, then reconnect it .....giving the ECU a chance to sort itself out by starting all over .....;)

My guess from the info provided is that you simply dropped so low in idle that it almost stalled. I have had cars in the past that had the dash lights all come on when the idle went to low but it didn't quite stall. Get that idle issue fixed before you blow something up due to low oil pressure or such.

Thank you for the information.

I hope it is cause by low rpm instead of something else. I fixed the exhaust leak today and will do a idle relearn. Hope this will solve the rpm drop issue.

Thank you.

I fixed the exhaust leak today and I will do a idle relearn to see whether it helps to fix the rpm drop issue.
