Disabling Turn Signals.........

Is there a way of disabling the turn signals from staying on, so that they ONLY come on when using the turn signal stalk itself? Im putting in 3K HID Fogs and only want the Fog Light itself on. That orange amber turn signal staying on is one of the dumbest "features" Toyota/Scion created.

Yeah you can swap the bulb (can't remeber the number) as the OEM one has 2 filiments (no idea how to spell it and to lazy to look it up)

or

You can cut the 12V wire that powers the "running" light part of the signal.

I read somewhere a while back that disconnecting the green wire that runs to that bulb, at the bulb socket would do this for me. I will try this tomorrow and see if it works.

Weird question, but your Screen name looks very familiar to me from a different forum. You didn't by chance have a white srt4 did you?

Yes, removing the green pin from the plug well disable the DRL feature on the signals.

You need to take apart eh plug to gain access to the pin. You'll also need something skinny to push the clip on the pin itself so that you can remove it. Once you remove the pin, just feed it back into the black tubing on the harness.

This is exactly the way I have my parking lights set up now; I felt like there was just too much "going on" in the front between the headlights, parking lights, side markers, and the fog light kit that I had just installed (also in 3K at the time, and like you said the amber conflicted with it).

What you simply need is a single filament bulb instead of your standard one. I requested this from the vendor that I purchased my LEDs from, so mine came like this, but I think it's as easy as simply clipping off one of the wires on a regular bulb (I'm not sure which, but it looks like others have chimed in with that information if you want to go the DIY route - the tape seems like a simple fix for it if you don't want to mess with cutting anything).

Here's a picture of mine for reference - the parking lights only function as turn signals when you engage them -
