Oil Catch Can for Turbo Setup

Which brand oil catch can do you guys run with your turbo setup? Thanks

Radium Dual setup. Excellent fitment on left and Right hand drive. Right hand drive just had to tweak the master cylinder hardline. They come with quality made brakets and all the required hardware. Thats them in my setup.

The oil location indicates blowby from the crankcase vent, not the PCV. I don't think there's reason to thing there's anything wrong with the can you have.

This AOS combines both vent routes into the same cavity, so it's clear that the oil comes back to the engine via the intake but it's not certain that this oil comes from the crankcase vent initially. The 2 lines are not isolated.

My catch can intercepts blow by from the PCV and returns it to the intake manifold where the PCV normally does. The crankcase vent returns oil to the intake before the throttle body. I thought perhaps your setup was similar in which case this would explain the oil in the throttle body.

Nope. The Crawford merges both routes, it's not a "twin beds room" with two separate cans with own ins and outs but one "king size bed" :)

Wow it seems a mystery how oil ends up in front of the butterfly valve.

Or you can... you know... vent it to atmosphere?

GsxrMe 03-22-2016 08:05 AM

I purchased a universal catchcan that vents to atmosphere. I had to make a bracket that holds the can to the battery. I deleted all pcv valves and have 1/2 hoses leading to the catch can. Installed a 1/2 barb where the crankcase pcv was.

The only thing I may do is delete the catchcan filter and run a hose from the top of the catch can to near the trans or tap the turbo air filter and have it recycling. I can smell oil/gas with the AC on now :(

I used 1/2 hoses because the oil doesn't get as much build up compared to tiny hoses that alot of theses kits use.

Cost to make my own setup was $130 including catchcan, barbs, hoses and metal to make bracket.

Before catchcan and pcv delete I was getting tomuch pressure in my crankcase and it was causing mystery oil leaks. Ever since the install I've had zero leaks.

I don't know why ppl VTA. It stinks and the fumes are likely gonna stay trapped in the engine bay, leaving residue. It's the easy way out, if you ask me. Do it right and catch it or recirculate it.
