Nameless OP+FP Fitment and Resonator Note Issue

Currently I have installed Nameless Catless Resonated OP+FP with a can shape resonator and notice the rattling during the cold start. Also, this resonator style also produces canister sound note on higher rpm.

So I'm wondering if I change the newer Ball style resonator would reduce that canister note?

And any suggestion on the rattling? I'm told that FP area is touching the body. The noise is only at old start and goes away.

Current setup - UEL OFH + Crawford BPB + Grimmspeed Crank Pulley + Greddy Supreme SP catback + Nameless OP+FP

Thx.

I would contact Nameless Performance. They built it so they should know

Yes, the ball resonator works far better than the can resonator for eliminating rasp, I tried both. As for rattling, only way to know for sure (if its not immediately apparent looking under the car) is to remove the pipe and look for evidence of metal on metal contact. Also check for cracking on the pipe where it mounts to the transmission and on the resonator can support. I had both of these fail and each caused a rattling noise on cold start.

Great! That's a big help. I emailed to Nameless already but no reply.

Looks like there is no physical contact on the body or the pipe. I guess I will have to check the pipe. Also, planning to buy the ball one from another owner.

Thanks again!

Seriously? I just bought one second hand with the old style can res. Only has 4k miles on it. Thought I was getting a good deal. This makes me feel like S**t. Guess I shoulda researched more into them. :sigh:

I mean it still works better than no resonator, it just has a raspy area in the 3000-4000 rpm range when used with aftermarket catless headers, which is absent with the ball resonators.

Ahh gotcha. Im still on stock headers with the TRD exhaust on the RS1... hopefully I don't have too much rasp. Rasp is the absolute worst in my opinion

Ouch! That's a bit high for being Catless. I paid $200 on mind. Hey at least you didn't pay new at full price. Still it's a good product and you can still feel a bit of the gain in mid area with the tune.

oh crap.... missed the fact that this is the catless pipe... I bought the catted one (500 brand new). My bad, sometimes I don't pay attention....

Okay finally I made a video of my Cold Start to show how it sounds terrible in the first 5 seconds of the video.

It only happens in the 1st cold start of the day for about 5-6 seconds only.

This happened after swapping the original OP+F with Nameless OP+FP Catless and Resonated. Open Flash UEL headers with Stock didn't have that noise. Adding the Catback just made the sound louder.
