Jackson vs. Kraftwerks supercharger?
Hi friends, Ive been pondering whether to install a forced induction kit to my brz 15' or nah and Ive decided to supercharge dis bich. After researching plenty of supercharger kits I have come down to 2 nominee's Jackson or Kraftwerks and I wanted to get your guys opinion on which one you prefer and your pros and cons on both. I plan on tuning it with someone I know so I am not going to invest in the DIY ECU Jackson offers and since they both are around the same price and WHP/Torque I am really tied. My intentions for this car is to reach 300 hp without e85 and I want to know which kit is the absolute best all around and will allow me to reach 300hp (with other mods down the road I know the kit alone wont reach that powerful w/o e85). Thanks!

Just buy a JRSC, don't worry about KW

Go with Jackson, I got a KW kit and it's the worse support ever when you get issues.

Currently using jrsc it's amazing!

Really digging my kw c38, I've had zero issues but only kids than a thousand miles so far.
Most everyone has claimed really good customer service from them in the owners thread. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk |
The only real differences between these 2 kits right now is how the rotrex supercharger is driven and where the intake and piping flows. Both are CARB certified if that matters to you and offer great customer support. All the pros and cons of each set up have been beaten to death and opinions are very polarized. "I would go with the ABC SC cause the XYZ SC is blah" is what you will see for feedback from each camp. In the end you will need to form your own opinions on which features and drawbacks you are willing to live with.

Kraftwerks has excellent customer service in my experience. You can do the big blower with their kit and make 300 easy.
No experience with the JR folks, but you don't see many complaints about their customer support. Can't go wrong with either kit. |
What sold me on JRSC was the fact that it doesn't have an additional belt, which makes the KW a bit more unnecessarily complex. The JRSC isn't known for breaking belts either like the KW is. I believe the JRSC weighs less too, and they have a very nice engine oil cooler that's designed to play well with the super charger oil cooler, and the front mounted inter cooler. They also have the smaller pulley for the JRSC now too. KW does have the bigger rotrex unit available however. Not sure if that requires bigger fuel pump and injectors, but I am betting it does. The smaller JRSC pulley will require those to be upgraded, plus a minimum of 93 octane or e85. I am very, very happy with my choice, but so are many KW owners. I'm sure it is a fine choice.

The question should be Jackson or Edelbrock, not Jackson or Kraftwerks.
|
Edelbrock hands down. Best numbers cleanest bay, amazing quality.

Good to know, thanks guys. The only objection I have with edelbrock is that the kit barely reached 250 which I don't mind if the kit is reliable and clean however that is quite a bit of a power difference.

It has a better torque curve though, everyday driving the 250rwhp CARB tune will be just as fast as a 280rwhp JRSC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
