New Stage 2 UEL (91-93 and E85) OTS tune files
 
Hi guys,

UPDATE (3/12/16): New Stage 2OFH Tune Files are now available for download (91-93oct and USDM only)

We spent the last couple of weeks revising our Stage 2 UEL OTS maps. The current OTS maps date back a couple of years so it was about time to make some improvements/updates. The new E85 map didn't really make any significant power gains over the currently released maps since there really isn't much to improve in terms of power. But the 91-93oct map picked up quite a bit more compared to current stage 2 UEL map:

Improvements have been made to low end power. Specifically the very low end (under 2000rpm) where some customers have reported a hesitation with the current tunes. I have also revised the VVT mapping significantly to optimize performance with our OFH. The previous maps weren't nearly as optimized our header as we wanted them to work reasonably well with a wide range of UEL headers.

Top end power gains are also very substantial. Much of power gains come from revised individual cylinder ignition retard, IAT compensation and ignition advance b tables. In basic terns, the new maps will make a bunch more power when air temps are lower (under 80F). The older maps were a bit conservative in this respect. And since it's winter here in the northern hemisphere, it should make a lot of people happy :)

Please note that these dyno results were done on a customer car running aftermarket big brakes (front and rear), lowering springs/shocks and non-OEM tires. It was also done on a different (slightly lower reading dyno) compared to the dyno results of the old OTS Stage 2 UEL map. So even though power numbers (old vs new maps) are roughly the same, make no mistake that the new maps make a bunch more power as evident with the first dyno result (same dyno, same care, same day) posted above.

These new Stage 2 UEL maps will be available towards the end of the next week in *BETA* status. And only for USDM 6MT cars first. If all goes smoothly, we will be releasing them for USDM 6AT followed by ROW (rest of world) cars. I wish I could release them, for everyone, all at once but it's a pretty big job supporting all the dozens of calibration IDs :cry:

This is great. Do you have a comparison of the fuel air ratio? We're you able to go leaner at peak power?

You probably hate it when people constantly when things are gonna arrive, but are there any updates to the Stage 1 tunes in the pipeline? specifically ZAIJD00D USDM Auto?

Sounds fantastic! Will the new stage 2 tune work with catted UEL's? Ordered a JDL one and I'm not sure 100% if it'll work...right now I have the stage 1 tune.

I've done it for my tune before. I Unfortunately don't have access to a compatible computer to get it done again though. It'd be nice to have it ready to flash for us Canadians!

And I was just about to make changes to my IAT compensation for the cool weather. Not runing the OFH but I cant wait to "inspect" the changes on the new map. Merry OFT gains!

Your work is a piece of art. Total respect. I do have a question though. Why did you guys decide to keep the torque bump at 4800rpm? Since it is only a bump occurring at a short stretch of rpms most OEMs would have sliced it off to protect engine HW from peak cylinder pressures mostly because the torque isn't sustained over a larger engine speed.
