Issue after changing Rear Rotors
 

Hey guys:
I just changed my stock rear rotors to DBA T3 slotted rotors. I found my hand brake did not work effectively after changing rotors. I need to pull it up very very high in order to park on the hill... Someone said I need to adjust the park shoe while others say I need to bring the car up to 30, pull up on the brake hard and let the car stop...
Btw, I cleaned the new rotors very carefully with brake cleaner.

Anyone had the same experience? Appreciate any imformation:thumbsup:

Adjust the parking brake shoes manually. It's pretty easy...just takes some time. The OEM rotors have a hole with a rubber plug in it on the hub face of the rotor. Do the aftermarket ones? If they do, you can adjust with the rotor (and some cases, the wheel) on. If not, you'll have to pull the rotor to do it (I prefer it this way). If you can change the rotors yourself, this will be no sweat.
If you don't know how, post up, and I'll walk you through it.

Maybe just adjust the emergency brake cable at the handle end ..... ??

That might work too...I've never had the console out to see if there is adjustment there.

Thanks for your reply guys! I "bedded" my brake today many times on high way and I found my e-brake got better but still felt different as before. I assume the coat on the rotors was quiet hard to clean off and it made the rotors slippery ...

Sorry, but I have to ask ........ you do know that the emergency brake is on a secondary braking system and has nothing to do with the rotors, as far as braking ...... ??

:lol: That sounds like its going to be a sick drift entry.

Bedding the brakes refers to only the pads & rotors not the e-brake. Correct me if I am wrong.
